## Executive Summary
Martin Herlihy is departing Saturday Night Live after five seasons as a member of the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy.

## Intelligence Brief
Martin Herlihy has officially exited the cast of Saturday Night Live. He is specifically identified in the coverage as a member of the comedy group Please Don’t Destroy, which has been integrated into the show's format. The announcement of his departure was distributed across several major entertainment news platforms simultaneously during the afternoon hours. Multiple high-profile trade publications and news outlets have emphasized the timeline of his tenure. The Hollywood Reporter and Variety both confirmed his exit after five seasons.

Deadline reported that he is leaving the show after five years of involvement. Similarly, People.com and Yahoo News Malaysia provided corroborating reports that Herlihy is departing the production. These outlets focus on the fact of his exit and the specific duration of his time spent as part of the Saturday Night Live ensemble, maintaining a consistent narrative across all reported sources. The context of this exit involves the unique role Herlihy held as part of Please Don’t Destroy. This group brought a different comedic dynamic to the traditional Saturday Night Live structure over the past five years.

Because the reports highlight both his individual departure and his affiliation with the trio, the move marks a shift in the group's presence on the show. Coverage does not yet specify the reasons behind the departure or if the other members of Please Don’t Destroy will remain with the series following Herlihy's exit. Moving forward, observers will look for official statements regarding the future of the Please Don’t Destroy collaboration within the Saturday Night Live cast. While the current reports from Deadline, Variety, and other outlets confirm that Herlihy is leaving, they do not outline any immediate replacement or a new direction for the remaining members. Future updates will likely clarify whether the group continues as a duo or if the show will pivot its approach to digital-first comedy segments as the new season progresses.
