## Executive Summary
LEGO's new Shrek-themed minifigures and sets have hit the market, with major discounts appearing at Amazon for the Labor Day holiday.

## Intelligence Brief
A new collection of LEGO Shrek minifigures has launched, with specific availability and pricing trends appearing across major retailers. According to reporting from IGN, the new LEGO Shrek minifigures are currently available for purchase at Amazon, where they are on sale in conjunction with Labor Day. This product release extends beyond small figures, as parade.com reports that Costco is offering a 1,400-piece LEGO set that celebrates the DreamWorks fairytale comedy originally released in 2001. These releases mark a significant expansion of the franchise's presence within the LEGO ecosystem, targeting both casual collectors and dedicated enthusiasts. Coverage from Gizmodo emphasizes the immediate availability of a specific Shrek Series 6-Pack of minifigures, noting that this bundle has hit a record-low deal exclusively for Labor Day. This focus on pricing suggests a high volume of promotional activity surrounding the launch.

Simultaneously, Brick Fanatics is providing deeper analysis for the collector community, specifically questioning which of the newly released Shrek minifigures is the rarest so far. The coverage highlights a divide between the mass-market retail sales at Amazon and the niche tracking of rarity within the enthusiast community. Context for these releases involves the financial landscape of the secondary market for LEGO collectibles. Brick Fanatics mentions that using Brick Search has resulted in £54,000 being saved on Shrek minifigures, indicating a volatile or expensive market for these specific items. The significance of the 1,400-piece set at Costco further illustrates the scale of the collaboration between LEGO and DreamWorks, moving from small figure packs to larger, more complex construction sets based on the 2001 film. This suggests a strategic push to capture multiple consumer segments during the holiday shopping window.

Future developments to monitor include the duration of the Labor Day discounts mentioned by IGN and Gizmodo, as the record-low pricing for the 6-pack is described as being for the holiday only. Additionally, the rarity rankings discussed by Brick Fanatics may shift as more units are distributed through Amazon and Costco. Observers will likely track whether further large-scale sets follow the 1,400-piece DreamWorks model or if the product line remains focused on the minifigure series. The continued impact of tools like Brick Search on the cost of these figures remains a key point of interest for the hobbyist community.
