## Executive Summary
The Los Angeles Dodgers are promoting top hitting prospect Josue De Paula to the active roster as Shohei Ohtani moves to the injured list.

## Intelligence Brief
Shohei Ohtani is being placed on the 15-day injured list, a move confirmed by Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts. In a direct response to Ohtani's absence, the organization is calling up Josue De Paula to serve as his replacement on the active roster. This transition marks a critical shift in the team's lineup as they navigate the loss of their star player due to illness or injury, as indicated by reports that Ohtani is currently ailing. Multiple major sports media outlets are tracking this development with a focus on the quality of the incoming talent. Yahoo Sports specifically describes Josue De Paula as an elite hitting prospect, while ESPN and MLB.com both categorize him as a top prospect for the organization.

The coordination of these reports across FOX Sports, ESPN, MLB.com, and Yahoo Sports suggests a synchronized announcement from the team regarding the 15-day IL designation for Ohtani and the immediate promotion of De Paula. mlbtraderumors.com also confirmed the promotion, highlighting the transactional nature of the move. This roster change is significant because it pairs the loss of a generational talent like Shohei Ohtani with the debut or return of a highly touted prospect. The coverage emphasizes that De Paula is being brought in specifically as a replacement, suggesting the Dodgers view his hitting capabilities as the most viable internal solution to fill the void left by Ohtani. The timing of the 15-day IL stint creates a specific window of absence that the Dodgers must manage using their farm system's top-tier talent to maintain their competitive standing. Observers will now monitor Josue De Paula's performance as he enters the major league lineup to replace Ohtani.

Future developments will depend on the progress of Ohtani's recovery over the 15-day period and whether De Paula's production justifies a longer-term role. The coverage does not specify the exact nature of Ohtani's ailment, only that he is ailing and will be sidelined for the designated duration. The team's immediate focus remains on integrating the top prospect into the active rotation to mitigate the impact of the injury.
