## Executive Summary
Morocco and Spain are locked in a dispute over the 2030 World Cup final host city while FIFA maintains that a decision will be made 'in due course'.

## Intelligence Brief
A conflict has emerged between Morocco and Spain regarding which nation will host the final match of the 2030 World Cup. The chief of the Moroccan federation has explicitly stated that Morocco will host the final, specifically identifying Casablanca as the host city for the championship match. This claim creates a direct clash with Spanish interests as both nations vie for the prestige of the tournament's concluding event. While the Moroccan official has made these assertions public, the governing body of international soccer has yet to confirm these details officially. Coverage of the dispute is widespread across major news outlets, including Reuters, USA Today, and ESPN.

Reuters specifically reports on the Moroccan federation chief's naming of Casablanca as the final's venue. Meanwhile, ESPN highlights the official stance from FIFA, which asserts that the decision regarding the host country for the 2030 World Cup final will be made 'in due course'. This suggests a discrepancy between the public claims made by Moroccan officials and the current administrative status of the decision within FIFA's internal processes. Adding a layer of geopolitical complexity to the sports dispute is a border crisis in Ceuta. According to The New York Times, the migrant crisis in Spain's Ceuta is impacting organizations like Real Madrid and extending into the discourse surrounding the 2030 World Cup.

ABC News further emphasizes this tension, describing the situation as Morocco and Spain jousting over the final host location amid this ongoing border crisis. The intersection of sports diplomacy and migration issues underscores why the hosting decision has become a point of significant friction between the two neighboring countries. Moving forward, observers are watching for a formal announcement from FIFA to resolve the conflicting claims. While the Moroccan federation chief has declared Casablanca as the site, the lack of a confirmed schedule from the governing body remains the primary point of uncertainty. Future developments will likely center on whether the migrant crisis in Ceuta continues to influence the diplomatic negotiations between Spain and Morocco, and when exactly FIFA will define what 'in due course' means for the final host selection.
