The inclusion of a traditionally private institution like Johns Hopkins on the top 500 list underscores the breadth of the ranking’s scope, while the focus on North Carolina schools reflects regional interest in the rankings. Future reporting is expected to track how the Forbes rankings affect applicant behavior and institutional marketing strategies, as coverage does not yet specify the quantitative impact on enrollment.
