> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-09-10 16:07 UTC · Category: Technology

## Executive Summary
Insta360 enters the pocket gimbal market with the Luna Pro, featuring a Leica lens and detachable screen for social media creators.

## Intelligence Brief
The device is now available in the United States at a retail price of $599.99. According to reports, the Luna Pro is positioned as a smaller and more affordable option within the company's existing gimbal camera lineup. This hardware is specifically marketed toward users looking to enhance the quality of their Instagram Reels and other short-form social media content. Coverage of the product launch is widespread across technology and photography outlets. Engadget has provided a review of the device, explicitly suggesting that Instagram Reels are poised for an upgrade due to the tool's capabilities.

CameraJabber highlights the technical specifications of the device, noting the inclusion of a Leica lens and a detachable screen. Meanwhile, CNET emphasizes the hardware's physical footprint and price point, describing it as both smaller and cheaper than previous offerings. NewsShooter and Red Shark News have also confirmed the release and the global availability of the unit. The introduction of the Luna Pro represents a strategic move by Insta360 to compete in what CameraJabber describes as the pocket gimbal fight. By integrating high-end optics from Leica and providing a detachable screen, the company is targeting the intersection of professional-grade stability and portable convenience.

This release follows a trend of creating specialized hardware for mobile-first content creators who require more stability than a smartphone can provide but less bulk than a full-sized camera rig. Future developments to monitor include the reception of the device among the Instagram creator community as mentioned by Engadget. The market will likely track how the $599.99 price point affects adoption rates compared to other pocket gimbals.
