## Executive Summary
Global oil prices surge past $100 per barrel as Iranian strikes on a U.S. air base in Jordan result in multiple damaged military aircraft.

## Intelligence Brief
Overnight military strikes conducted by Iran have targeted a United States air base located in Jordan, resulting in significant damage to American military assets. The strikes targeted the air base specifically, leading to what some reports describe as major aircraft losses for the United States military. Coverage of the event is widespread across several major international news organizations. Reuters reports that CBS has identified the damage to multiple military aircraft at the Jordanian base. This information is mirrored by NDTV, which explicitly states that several U.S. war planes were damaged in the Iranian strike.

The Times of India has also covered the incident, characterizing the aircraft losses as major according to their reporting. The BBC has further corroborated these details, citing CBS regarding the destruction of military aircraft at the air force base in Jordan. This escalation occurs against a backdrop of extreme volatility in the global energy sector. The strategic importance of the air base in Jordan makes it a critical node for U.S. operations, and the ability of Iranian forces to successfully damage aircraft on the ground represents a significant development in the ongoing conflict between the two nations. Future developments will likely center on the extent of the damage and the subsequent response from the United States.

Current coverage focuses on the reports from CBS regarding the number of damaged planes and the specific location of the strike in Jordan. Observers are monitoring for official confirmations of the total number of aircraft lost or disabled. Additionally, the trajectory of oil prices will remain a primary indicator of how the international community perceives the stability of the region following these overnight strikes.
