## Executive Summary
The New York Yankees call up Anthony Volpe from Triple-A following Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s placement on the injured list due to a sprained right thumb.

## Intelligence Brief
According to reports from MLB.com and ESPN, Chisholm Jr. has been added to the injured list after sustaining a sprained right thumb. In response to this vacancy in the infield, the Yankees have made the decision to summon Anthony Volpe back to the active roster. Volpe is returning to the team from Triple-A to fill the gap left by the injury, a move confirmed by several sports news outlets during the team's current series against the Colorado Rockies. Extensive coverage of these roster shifts has been provided by a variety of outlets, including Yahoo Sports, CBS Sports, and Newsday. The New York Post highlighted that Volpe's return follows an emerging question regarding the team's infield depth.

Meanwhile, Audacy and The Lufkin Daily News reported on the possibility of Volpe being inserted directly into the lineup for the games against the Rockies. The consensus across these sources is that the move is a direct reaction to the physical condition of Chisholm Jr.'s thumb, necessitating a prompt replacement to maintain the team's offensive and defensive capabilities. This transition occurs at a critical moment as the New York Yankees are currently attempting to chase a sweep of the Colorado Rockies. The context of Volpe's return involves his recent tenure in Triple-A and his immediate reintegration into the major league squad. The urgency of the call-up is tied to the specific nature of Chisholm Jr.'s injury, which has forced the team to reassess their infield alignment.

By bringing Volpe back, the organization is addressing an immediate personnel shortage while managing the recovery timeline for their injured starter. Observers will be monitoring the Yankees' lineup to see if Volpe is officially inserted into the starting rotation against the Rockies as suggested by early reports. Further updates will depend on official roster moves published by MLB.com and the progression of Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s sprained thumb. The team's ability to secure a series sweep against the Rockies remains a primary focus as they integrate Volpe back into the active roster following his time in the minor leagues.
