## Intelligence Brief
Nintendo has officially opened pre-orders for a special Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition of the Switch 2 console and a matching Pro Controller. This hardware launch is timed to coincide with the 40th anniversary celebrations of the gaming icon. According to reporting from Tom's Guide, the pre-order window for both the console and the accompanying Pro Controller is currently live, allowing consumers to secure the anniversary-themed hardware. This release marks a significant milestone for the franchise and the company's newest hardware iteration. Coverage of the event is being handled by multiple gaming and tech outlets, with Tom's Guide focusing specifically on the availability of the pre-orders for the hardware bundle.

Meanwhile, stupidDOPE reports that the Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition serves as a celebration of the gaming icon, emphasizing the cultural impact of the series. Variety has provided further details through its gaming news roundup, linking the hardware anniversary to a specific software title. These reports collectively highlight the coordinated nature of the hardware and software rollout for this anniversary period. Crucial context for this trend is the announcement of 'The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time' 40th Anniversary Remake. Variety reports that this specific remake has a set release date for the Nintendo Switch 2.

The timing of the hardware pre-orders suggests a strategic alignment between the launch of the new console's anniversary edition and the release of one of the most significant remakes in the series. This combination of a new hardware model and a high-profile remake of a classic title explains the current surge in consumer and media interest. Future developments to monitor include the official release date for the 'Ocarina of Time' remake on the Switch 2, as mentioned by Variety. Observers will also be tracking the availability of the anniversary console and Pro Controller following the initial pre-order phase reported by Tom's Guide. Because the pre-orders are already live, the focus will shift toward the actual shipping dates and the reception of the 40th anniversary hardware upon its physical arrival to consumers.
