> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-09-11 16:07 UTC · Category: Sports

## Executive Summary
Rams receiver Puka Nacua opens up to Netflix about entering rehab, sparking sports media focus on his “darkest times” and alcohol use.

## Intelligence Brief
He described the period as the “darkest times” of his life and said he turned to alcohol during that stretch. Yahoo Sports framed the disclosure as an acknowledgment of “alcohol issues during the darkest times” and highlighted Nacua’s decision to seek professional help. People.com echoed the same points, noting that Nacua revealed his turn to alcohol while reflecting on those difficult moments.

The parallel timing of the two pieces suggests coordinated media attention to athlete‑wellness issues, and both outlets presented the information without additional commentary. Nacua entered the NFL as a highly touted prospect and has become a key contributor to the Rams’ offense as a wide receiver. The public discussion of substance‑use challenges by a current NFL player is relatively rare, and his choice to speak with a streaming platform underscores a growing willingness among athletes to address personal health matters openly.

The coverage does not yet specify the length of Nacua’s rehabilitation program, the dates of his return to team activities, or any official statements from the Rams organization. Future reporting may focus on updates from the player, possible comments from team officials, and any broader discussion about mental‑health resources within the NFL.
