## Executive Summary
New research indicates the Sun may have consumed a super-Earth planet early in its history, leaving hidden fingerprints.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent scientific research suggests that the Sun may have swallowed a planet early in its history, potentially consuming a super-Earth. Coverage across multiple outlets explores the hypothesis that our star acted as a planet killer, destroying a celestial body significantly larger than Earth. According to reporting from outlets including space.com, Mashable, Gizmodo, Phys.org, NewsNation, and EarthSky, investigators are examining the interior of the Sun for chemical traces or fingerprints that could confirm whether such an event took place. The Royal Astronomical Society, Astrobiology Web, WTHR, 9News, and RBC-Ukraine also covered the findings, detailing how the star might still be hiding evidence of the consumed world.

The reports emphasize that these investigations focus on internal solar signatures, which researchers believe could hold the key to uncovering the ancient planetary destruction. While the exact mechanics of how the sun could have swallowed a super-Earth are being discussed in scientific circles, the current body of articles highlights the search for these distinct markers within the star. This line of inquiry builds on ongoing astronomical interest in the early history of the solar system and stellar evolution. Researchers are questioning how common planetary ingestion might be among stars and whether the Sun had a more volatile past than previously understood.

The premise connects the study of solar compositions with the broader detection of missing super-Earth planets in planetary systems across the galaxy, framing our star in a new capacity. As the scientific community reviews the new study, attention turns to how researchers plan to detect these elusive fingerprints within the solar interior. Coverage does not yet specify the exact timeline for future observational campaigns or which instruments will be utilized to search for the hidden evidence. Observers will monitor further publications from astronomical institutions to see how the hypothesis is tested against solar data.
