## Executive Summary
James Madison University ties an NCAA record after a dominant 87-3 victory over the Wagner Seahawks.

## Intelligence Brief
The game represented the second matchup of the year for the JMU program. According to reports, the Dukes managed to score 87 points during the rout, a performance that highlighted a significant gap in production between the two teams. The game's outcome was decided by a massive margin, marking one of the most lopsided results in recent college football play. Coverage from ESPN specifically emphasizes that JMU tied an NCAA record during the contest by recording three punt return touchdowns. Yahoo Sports described the event as a historic college football rout, focusing on the high point total dropped on the Wagner Seahawks.

Other outlets providing updates included USA Today, which offered a comprehensive NCAAF game summary, and breezejmu.org, which confirmed the victory as JMU's second game of the current season. These reports collectively frame the win as a record-tying achievement for the university's football program. To understand the context of this event, it is necessary to note the administrative changes leading up to the game. James Madison University Athletics announced that the football game scheduled for Saturday was moved to a noon kickoff. This scheduling shift preceded the actual gameplay where the Dukes established their offensive and special teams dominance.

The significance of the three punt return touchdowns is the primary driver of the current trend, as it places the JMU squad in a rare statistical category within the history of the NCAA. Moving forward, the focus remains on how this record-tying performance will influence the team's momentum as they progress through the season. Based on the provided coverage, the immediate results are established through the final score of 87-3 and the specific special teams records set. Further analysis will likely center on the game summaries provided by USA Today and ESPN to determine the individual contributors to the three punt return touchdowns and the overall offensive strategy that led to the 87-point total.
