BTS leader RM unveils his personal art collection at SFMOMA and donates 100 million won to the National Museum of Korea.

## Intelligence Brief
RM, the leader of the global music group BTS, has visited the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) in preparation for a new exhibition featuring his personal art collection. During his visit to the city, RM described San Francisco as being one of the coolest cities. The upcoming exhibition focuses on the K-Pop star's curated collection of art, making his personal tastes the center stage of the event. The unveiling is scheduled to take place at the San Francisco museum, marking a significant intersection between the music industry and the fine arts world. Coverage of the event is widespread across international and regional outlets.

The San Francisco Chronicle highlighted RM's positive comments about the city during his visit to SFMOMA. Both Billboard and Yahoo have reported on a speech given by RM, in which he revealed his collection and explained the reasons why he felt embarrassed to do so. Additionally, AP News focused on how the K-Pop star's collection is the primary feature of the new exhibit, while Yonhap News Agency (en.yna.co.kr) confirmed that the personal collection would be unveiled at the museum. Beyond the San Francisco exhibition, RM has made significant contributions to art preservation in South Korea. According to reports from the Korea JoongAng Daily and UPI, RM has donated 100 million won to the National Museum of Korea.

This financial contribution is specifically intended to help the National Museum of Korea expand its existing collection. This philanthropic effort, combined with his public exhibition in the United States, underscores his ongoing engagement with museum institutions and the acquisition of art on both a domestic and international scale. Looking forward, the exhibition is positioned as a major cultural draw for the month of October 2026. The South China Morning Post has listed the RM collection as one of seven must-visit exhibitions for October, placing it alongside other notable displays such as those featuring Jackson Pollock. Observers will be watching for the public's reaction to the specific pieces RM has chosen to reveal, as well as the continued impact of his financial support for the National Museum of Korea's growth.
