## Executive Summary
Hawaiian Airlines is updating check-in timelines and aircraft deployment as integration with Alaska Airlines evolves.

## Intelligence Brief
Hawaiian Airlines is implementing new operational rules and rewards choices affecting both interisland and international travelers. A primary change involves the check-in window for neighbor island flights, which is moving to 50 minutes. This update coincides with a shift in aircraft deployment, as Boeing 737-800s are being deployed on the route between Honolulu and Kahului. Travelers are being advised to allow additional time for checked bags due to these evolving procedures. Coverage from Maui Now, KHON2, and hawaiinewsnow.com emphasizes the immediate impact on passenger logistics.

Maui Now specifically highlights that Alaska Airlines 737s are beginning flights on the Honolulu-Kahului route starting this Saturday. The reports collectively signal a period of transition for passengers, with KHON2 focusing on the broader scope of new check-in rules and the introduction of different rewards choices available to those flying with the carrier. This shift occurs amidst a broader integration of services between Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines. According to reports from Aloha State Daily and hawaiinewsnow.com, the changes are not isolated, as the guidance to allow extra time for baggage applies to passengers using either airline. The deployment of larger Boeing 737-800 aircraft on high-traffic routes like the one to Kahului suggests a realignment of fleet capacity to handle specific passenger demands within the archipelago.

Looking forward, Aloha State Daily indicates that more changes are expected for both interisland and international travelers. Observers will be monitoring how the transition to Alaska Airlines' 737s on the Honolulu-Kahului route affects scheduling and capacity. The industry will also be watching the rollout of the new rewards choices mentioned by KHON2 and how the adjusted 50-minute check-in deadline impacts airport flow on neighbor islands.
