## Executive Summary
Colorado State has fired defensive coordinator Tyson Summers following a mid-game removal from playcalling duties during a loss to Oregon State.

## Intelligence Brief
Colorado State University has fired defensive coordinator Tyson Summers. The termination occurred during a game against Oregon State, which resulted in a blowout loss for Colorado State. According to reports from CBS Sports, Summers left the team mid-game after he was replaced as the playcaller. This sequence of events suggests a sudden breakdown in the coaching structure during the live contest, leading to the coordinator's immediate departure from the sidelines and his subsequent removal from the position.

Coverage of the event has been widespread across major sports networks and local media. ESPN and Bleacher Report explicitly state that the university fired Summers amid the loss to Oregon State. USA Today raised questions regarding whether head coach Jim Mora was the individual who fired the defensive coordinator during the game. Meanwhile, The Coloradoan has focused on the team's defensive issues, noting that these problems came to a head during the blowout defeat, while also confirming that Summers is officially out as the defensive coordinator.

This development is significant because it involves a high-profile coaching change taking place in real-time during a collegiate athletic event. The context provided by The Coloradoan emphasizes that the team was struggling with defensive issues prior to the conclusion of the Oregon State game. The decision to replace a playcaller mid-game and then terminate the employee before the event's conclusion highlights a critical level of dissatisfaction with the defensive performance on the field during this specific matchup.

Future developments will likely center on how Colorado State manages its defensive playcalling moving forward. The coverage established that Summers has been replaced and has left the team, but it does not yet specify who will assume the long-term responsibilities of the defensive coordinator role. Observers will be watching for official statements from Jim Mora or the university administration to clarify the permanent leadership structure of the defense following the blowout loss to Oregon State.
