## Intelligence Brief
James Gunn has officially confirmed that he is already in the process of writing his next film for the DC Universe. This development comes as work continues on 'Superman: Man of Tomorrow,' which serves as the sequel to the initial Superman film. According to reports from Deadline, Gunn stated he is "already in it" regarding the writing process for this upcoming project. The announcement signals a rapid production pace for the filmmaker as he balances the finalization of his current project with the creation of new content for the broader cinematic universe. Coverage from Variety, TheWrap, and Deadline emphasizes the timing of this confirmation, noting that Gunn is writing this new film ahead of the release of 'Superman: Man of Tomorrow.' Additionally, Cosmic Book News and Polygon report that 'Man of Tomorrow' has reached a notable post-production milestone, specifically that the assembly cut of the film is now complete.

These outlets highlight Gunn's excitement regarding the future of the DCU, suggesting a streamlined workflow as the production moves from the editing phase of the Superman sequel into the active development of the next movie. Context for these updates is provided by the Superman Super Site, which reports that David Ellison is backing a 10-year plan for the DCU. This long-term strategic framework provides the structural backing for Gunn's current writing efforts and the overall trajectory of the franchise. The confirmation of a next movie following the Superman sequel indicates that the studio is adhering to this extended timeline. The synergy between Ellison's financial or strategic backing and Gunn's creative output is a central theme across the reporting, positioning the current projects as part of a decade-long vision.

Moving forward, observers are tracking the progress of 'Superman: Man of Tomorrow' as it moves beyond the assembly cut phase of post-production. The industry is also awaiting further details regarding the specific identity or plot of the next film Gunn is currently writing. While the coverage confirms the existence of the project and the fact that writing has commenced, the specific title and character focus of the film following the Superman sequel have not yet been disclosed in the provided reports. The continued implementation of the 10-year DCU plan remains a primary point of interest.
