This retail movement occurs while a global shortage continues to impact the technology market. Outlets including TechRadar, KitGuru, ZDNET, Tom's Hardware, Mashable, and PC Guide are tracking these hardware promotions, specifically tying them to October Prime Day, Amazon Prime Day, and Amazon Prime Big Deal Days events taking place in 2026. Publications like ZDNET, Tom's Hardware, Mashable, and PC Guide emphasize curated lists of deals covering various storage formats, including SSDs, portable SSDs, microresident cards, and hard drives. KitGuru specifically reports that Biwin has cut its SSD prices for Amazon Prime Day.

Meanwhile, TechRadar highlights the Samsung T9 as a top portable solid-state drive option in its ongoing product evaluations. Coverage focuses heavily on guiding consumers through early October promotional periods across major retail platforms, with varying discounts applied to hardware brands such as Samsung, SanDisk, and Biwin. This retail activity unfolds against the backdrop of an ongoing global shortage affecting solid-state drives and related components, which has driven peak prices higher earlier in the year. Detailed coverage does not yet specify the exact end dates for all individual price cuts or the total volume of inventory available under these promotional conditions.

As promotional events progress, observers will monitor whether additional manufacturers follow Biwin in cutting prices and how long retailers can maintain these reduced rates on hardware like the 2TB Samsung 990 PRO against the pressures of the global shortage.
