## Executive Summary
The San Diego Padres have activated pitcher Walker Buehler from the paternity list to bolster their roster for the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers.

## Intelligence Brief
The San Diego Padres have officially activated pitcher Walker Buehler for their National League Division Series (NLDS) roster. According to reports from MLB.com and Yahoo Sports, Buehler is returning to the active squad following a stint on the paternity list. This roster move is timed specifically to occur before the start of Game 3 of the series. The Padres are currently competing against the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLDS, and the addition of Buehler is a key tactical adjustment for the team's pitching rotation as they navigate this postseason matchup. Coverage of this move has been widespread across sports media outlets. MLB.com and MLB Trade Rumors specifically highlighted the activation of Buehler onto the postseason roster.

Yahoo Sports emphasized the personal context of the move, noting that the pitcher had been away on a paternity-list stint. Meanwhile, NBC 7 San Diego focused on the broader strategy of the team, reporting that the Padres are effectively running it back with their NLDS roster as they face off against the Brewers. These reports collectively confirm the timeline and the specific administrative status of the player. This development is significant because it returns a key arm to the San Diego Padres during a critical phase of the MLB playoffs. The paternity list allows players to step away for the birth or adoption of a child without permanently occupying a spot on the active roster, but the timing of Buehler's return just before Game 3 suggests a strategic need for his presence in the series. By reintegrating him now, the Padres are attempting to maximize their available talent against the Milwaukee Brewers during a high-stakes elimination or advancement window in the National League playoffs.

Looking ahead, the focus remains on the immediate impact of Buehler's return as the series progresses. Based on the reported timeline from MLB.com, the primary point of observation will be his availability and usage starting with Game 3. The San Diego Padres will need to manage their pitching staff effectively against the Brewers to advance further in the postseason. Coverage does not yet specify the exact role Buehler will play—whether as a starter or a reliever—but his official activation ensures he is eligible for selection in the upcoming games of the NLDS.
