## Executive Summary
Disney+ is expanding its sports footprint by streaming Super Bowl LXI in 2027 alongside linear broadcasts on ABC and ESPN.

## Intelligence Brief
Disney+ has been announced as a streaming destination for Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for 2027. According to reports from the ESPN Press Room and ESPN, the streaming platform will join ABC and ESPN in providing coverage of the championship game. This strategic move allows the company to distribute the event across multiple platforms simultaneously. The broadcast team for the event has already been identified by ABC7 Los Angeles, which confirms that Joe Buck, Troy Aikman, Lisa Salters, and Laura Rutledge will be on the call for the telecast. Wide-reaching coverage from a variety of outlets emphasizes the multi-channel nature of this distribution strategy.

The New York Times reports that ESPN will offer the Super Bowl on Disney+ in addition to its linear networks. Similar confirmations appear in reports from the Los Angeles Times, CNBC, and Variety, all of which highlight the shift toward integrating major sporting events into Disney's streaming ecosystem. The ESPN Press Room explicitly states that the goal of adding Disney+ to the broadcast lineup is to provide fans with more ways to watch the game. Contextual details provided by Deadline suggest that this is part of a broader trend of moving sports content to Disney+. The outlet notes that this marks the first time Disney+ will stream a Super Bowl.

Additionally, Deadline reports that the platform will carry two Monday Night Football games during the current season. This indicates a pattern of incrementally increasing the volume of live professional football available to streaming subscribers, moving beyond traditional cable and broadcast television constraints. Looking forward, the primary focus remains on the 2027 Super Bowl LXI event and the integration of the broadcast team including Buck, Aikman, Salters, and Rutledge. Based on the current coverage, observers will likely track how the Monday Night Football games perform on the streaming service this season. The reported expansion into the Super Bowl indicates a definitive move toward a hybrid model where linear networks like ABC and ESPN coexist with Disney+ for the most high-profile sporting events in the United States.
