# Social Reckoning Box Office: Sequel Targets $7 Million, Other Mommy to Lead

> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-10-08 08:40 UTC · Category: Entertainment

## Executive Summary
Box office coverage tracks a stark divergence between preview earnings for Other Mommy and a soft opening for The Social Reckoning.

## Intelligence Brief
Current entertainment reporting focuses on the theatrical release and box office performance of two distinct films, namely Other Mommy and The Social Reckoning. According to reporting from Deadline, Other Mommy brought in $3.6 million during its preview screenings, while coverage notes a soft start for the competing title, The Social Reckoning. Outlets tracking these cinematic developments include Deadline, Yahoo, The Daily Beast, The Guardian, Forbes, IGN, The Hindu, and IMDb. Coverage ranges from box office financial analysis to extensive critical reviews of Other Mommy, which stars Jessica Chastain and Arabella Olivia Clark.

The published assessments feature divergent viewpoints regarding the quality and fright factor of the film, alongside discussions of its Rotten Tomatoes review scores and specific narrative elements such as the ending and the demonic double horror premise. Critical reception documented across the media landscape is notably polarized. Forbes and Yahoo highlight what they describe as catastrophic review scores and a seriously low Rotten Tomatoes score, while simultaneously acknowledging that the feature is on track to win the box office. Conversely, other reviews describe the project variously as a tour de force, an insane horror ride, a lackluster production, and a film that struggles with its own identity, comparing elements of the performance to previous works by the lead actor.

With theatrical runs underway, coverage does not yet specify exact final weekend tallies beyond the initial preview figures and projections. Additional audience interest is reflected in queries regarding digital and streaming release dates, as well as narrative explainers addressing whether an entity takes over a character named Bela's body. Analysts and fans continue to monitor how negative critical consensus interacts with commercial box office leadership.
