## Executive Summary
Microsoft reduces M365 Family and Premium OneDrive cloud storage allocations from 6TB to 2TB.

## Intelligence Brief
According to the reports, Microsoft is reducing the storage allocations associated with Microsoft 365 Family and Premium OneDrive subscriptions from a total of 6 terabytes down to 2 terabytes. This change directly impacts the cloud storage capacity available to subscribers who utilize these specific Microsoft plans, altering the storage terms that users have previously relied upon for their personal and family digital files, documents, and media libraries across multiple connected devices and platforms. This shift in cloud storage provisioning arrives as technology companies continually reevaluate their infrastructure costs, consumer plan features, and bundled software offerings.

Microsoft 365 plans have historically bundled application access with cloud storage benefits, making storage capacity a central selling point for households and individual power users. The simultaneous introduction of shared artificial intelligence benefits on Family plans, as reported by coverage, indicates a broader restructuring of what features are included, bundled, or limited within these subscription packages, altering the value proposition for millions of paying customers worldwide. As the changes roll out to subscribers, coverage does not yet specify the exact date by which existing accounts will see their storage reduced, nor does it detail potential grandfathering options for current users.

Observers will be monitoring subsequent announcements from Microsoft to see how the company handles accounts currently exceeding the newly established 2-terabyte threshold. Further updates from the reporting outlets are expected to track user reception, technical rollout procedures, and any additional modifications to Microsoft 365 subscription tiers and AI sharing capabilities.
