> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-10-09 11:40 UTC · Category: Technology

## Executive Summary
Ubisoft announces the shutdown of Rainbow Six Mobile just seven months after its global launch, with the game going offline in early 2027.

## Intelligence Brief
Specifically, Ubisoft has officially announced the closure and shutdown of Rainbow Six Mobile. Furthermore, reports establish an exact timeline for the removal of access, stating that the game will officially be unplayable and going offline on January 16th, 2027. Media reports heavily emphasize the rapid turnaround from the game's initial release to its termination. Publications such as GamingBolt and Kotaku frame the shutdown date as arriving unusually early in the product lifecycle, noting the brief seven-month window between the worldwide debut and the planned offline date.

Official statements from Ubisoft itself, tracked across multiple update entries, corroborate the impending closure. Contextually, this announcement follows the full rollout of the mobile title earlier in 2026, which aimed to bring the popular tactical shooter franchise to handheld devices globally. While current reporting outlines the end date and the publisher's official updates, the provided coverage does not yet specify detailed developer explanations or financial metrics behind the termination decision. Readers and players are left with the stark reality of a swift discontinuation for a project that only recently completed its transition to a full release.

As the January 16th, 2027 offline date approaches, industry observers and players will be monitoring further communications from Ubisoft. Future updates from the publisher may clarify procedural details regarding the shutdown process, account statuses, or any remaining in-game milestones leading up to the date when the game becomes entirely unplayable. Coverage currently restricts itself to the announcement of the closure and the exact timeline, leaving subsequent developments subject to future reporting.
