## Executive Summary
Wizards of the Coast unveils four Marvel‑themed Commander decks for 2027, pairing a brand‑new superhero narrative with the iconic card game.

## Intelligence Brief
Magic: The Gathering’s publisher Wizards of the Coast has announced the next Marvel‑themed expansion, confirming that four new Commander decks will be released in 2027. The official reveal was reported by Polygon, which notes the decks are part of the upcoming set and will carry the Marvel branding. IGN adds that Wizards has written an original superhero story to accompany the product, rather than relying on pre‑existing Marvel plotlines. Coverage from Polygon focuses on the concrete details of the four Commander decks, emphasizing the planned 2027 launch date and the continuation of the Marvel collaboration within the Commander format.

IGN’s piece, by contrast, highlights the narrative angle, stating that Wizards crafted its own superhero storyline to give the set a unique thematic backbone. The announcement arrives amid a broader trend of crossover products that blend collectible‑card gaming with comic‑book IPs. Magic: The Gathering, a long‑standing trading‑card game, has previously incorporated licensed themes, and the Marvel partnership extends that history. By inventing a bespoke superhero narrative, Wizards signals an intent to deepen the storytelling experience for players, potentially influencing deck‑building strategies and collector interest.

Future coverage is expected to detail the individual deck identities, the specific cards that will appear, and how the original storyline will be reflected in artwork and flavor text. Observers will watch for official set previews, release‑schedule confirmations, and any organized‑play events tied to the Marvel Commander decks. The rollout schedule for 2027 and any promotional tie‑ins with Marvel media will also be closely monitored.
