# God Of War Laufey Collector’s Edition Doesn’t Include The Game, This Time On Purpose

> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-10-13 13:00 UTC · Category: Technology

## Executive Summary
Sony's God of War Laufey collector's edition launches without the game, sparking immediate gamer backlash.

## Intelligence Brief
The box set is priced at £130 according to GamingBolt, €150 per Instant Gaming News, and $170 noted by Tech4Gamers. All coverage notes the edition does not contain the game itself; instead it offers a light‑up Faye statue, as described by Press Start Australia and iXBT.games. Media reaction centers on the omission of the game. iXBT.games reports gamers criticizing Sony, while Kotaku headlines the decision as “on purpose.” Tech4Gamers frames the move as “under fire” for not including the core product. Gameranx highlights that the disc version of God of War Laufey exists, making this the latest title to receive a collector’s box without the game.

IMDb notes a pre‑order bonus restriction tied to the edition. Collector’s editions traditionally bundle the full game with exclusive items, creating a premium package for fans. The current release breaks that pattern by separating the physical memorabilia from the software, a shift that industry observers see as a test of consumer willingness to purchase accessories alone. The inclusion of a light‑up statue of the character Faye aligns with recent trends of high‑detail figurines, while the varied pricing in pounds, euros and dollars reflects regional market strategies.

Future coverage will likely track Sony’s response to the criticism and any adjustments to the offering. Observers will watch for announcements regarding bundled game options, potential price revisions, or additional bonus content. Monitoring pre‑order fulfillment rates and community sentiment on platforms referenced by the cited outlets will indicate whether the approach gains acceptance or prompts further revisions.
