## Executive Summary
Don Mattingly is reportedly set to drop his interim tag and return as the full-time manager of the Philadelphia Phillies for 2027.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent sports reporting indicates that the Philadelphia Phillies are planning to retain Don Mattingly as their manager, removing the interim status he previously held. The reports note that the team is expected to formally name Mattingly to the full-time position. While the headlines establish that the choice comes after the franchise was turned down by Alex Cora, the broader implications of the hiring process continue to draw commentary across major sports media platforms. CBS Sports and other publications highlight the pursuit of Alex Cora as a factor preceding the decision to stick with Mattingly.

Context provided across the articles points to the 2026 season turnaround under Mattingly as the primary catalyst for his retention. The coverage does not yet specify the exact length or financial terms of the new managerial contract. The reports collectively underscore a swift resolution to the team's managerial search following the unsuccessful pursuit of alternative candidates. As the story develops, observers and fans are directed to watch for an official confirmation and formal introductory statements from the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Because the available reports rely on unnamed sources and ongoing league developments, future updates will likely clarify the exact composition of the coaching staff moving forward. For now, the factual record established by the eight tracked articles is limited to the expected removal of the interim title and the preparation for the 2027 season under Mattingly's continued leadership.
