## Executive Summary
UFC champion Alexander Volkanovski pitches a winner‑take‑all ‘send‑off’ bout against Justin Gaethje, aiming for a dual retirement.

## Intelligence Brief
Alexander Volkanovski, the reigning UFC champion, announced a proposal for a bout against fellow champion Justin Gaethje that would serve as a ‘send‑off’ or ‘super fight.’ The concept, outlined after Volkanovski’s UFC 333 title defense, envisions a winner‑take‑all matchup in which both competitors retire from competition. Volkanovski described the idea as a fight that ends in two retirements, positioning it as a final chapter for both athletes. Bloody Elbow reported that Volkanovski wants a ‘super fight’ that ends in two retirements after UFC 333. MMA Fighting highlighted his interest in a ‘crazy super fight’ while noting that ‘the divisions sort themselves out.’ Bleacher Report framed the announcement as a tease of a ‘send‑off’ fight ahead of Volkanovski’s retirement. USA Today focused on the ‘winner‑take‑all fight’ language, and ESPN described the bout as a ‘send‑off’ superbout.

Each source repeated the core elements—Volkanovski’s champion status, Gaethje as opponent, and the retirement angle—while emphasizing slightly different phrasing. The proposal arrives at a moment when both fighters occupy championship positions in their respective weight classes, a fact that gives the suggested matchup high stakes. Volkanovski’s reference to divisions sorting themselves out suggests an awareness of ongoing roster dynamics within the UFC. Historically, UFC champions have occasionally arranged high‑profile cross‑division or farewell fights, and the notion of a winner‑take‑all contest adds a financial and legacy dimension to the discussion. The idea of both athletes retiring together is unusual, making the proposal noteworthy within the sport’s narrative.

Future coverage will need to track whether the UFC confirms negotiations, sets a date, or issues an official statement on the ‘send‑off’ fight. Observers will watch for any contractual details, potential purse structures reflecting the winner‑take‑all premise, and the impact on the featherweight and lightweight divisions. The progression of talks between Volkanovski, Gaethje, and UFC officials will determine if the proposed superbout moves from speculation to scheduled event.
