## Executive Summary
Delhi police detain the founder of the ‘Cockroach’ movement just hours before a planned Tiranga march, sparking live protests and legal pushback.

## Intelligence Brief
NDTV reported that activist Neha Bora was picked up near Jantar Mantar, while AISA alleged she was moved to an undisclosed location. The Supreme Court declined an urgent hearing on the Central Park closure, a decision noted by Deccan Herald and quoted as a hope that “better sense will prevail.” Coverage of the incident spans a range of outlets. Reuters, CNN and the Financial Times focused on the police action and the video evidence, with the Financial Times describing the move as a repeat effort to head off new protests. The BBC highlighted Dipke’s role as the ‘Cockroach’ party founder, while The Hindu broadcast a live Tiranga protest and recorded condemnations from Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

Hindustan Times published Dipke’s direct question to police, and the Times of India quoted his argument with officers. AISA’s claim about Neha Bora was featured in The Hindu and NDTV, adding a layer of activist concern. The ‘Cockroach’ movement, also referred to as CJP, has built its profile around Tiranga protests that challenge government policies, including the contentious closure of Central Park. The park’s shutdown has prompted legal petitions, but the Supreme Court’s refusal of an urgent hearing signals a judicial reluctance to intervene at this stage.

Political leaders across the spectrum, from Kejriwal to Banerjee, have publicly condemned the detention, framing it as an infringement on democratic dissent. Student groups and allied organisations such as AISA have amplified allegations of undisclosed detentions, suggesting a broader pattern of pre‑emptive police action ahead of mass mobilisations. The next focal point is the scheduled Tiranga march at Central Park, where organisers are expected to proceed despite the detention of Dipke and other leaders. Observers will watch for any further police interventions, additional court filings following the Supreme Court’s refusal, and statements from national politicians reacting to the unfolding situation.
