## Executive Summary
Masked Israeli settlers attack a European diplomatic convoy and a French mayor in the West Bank during the olive harvest.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reporting from outlets including France 24, AP News, Reuters, Haaretz, The Times of Israel, and RTE.ie details a violent incident in the occupied West Bank where masked Israeli settlers targeted a convoy carrying European diplomats and international observers. According to the coverage, the delegation was present in the region during the olive harvest of Palestinians when the attack occurred. During the assault, a French mayor participating in or accompanying the delegation was physically beaten by the attackers. The event drew immediate international attention and diplomatic concern regarding the safety of foreign officials and local populations in the disputed territories. The coverage heavily emphasizes the diplomatic fallout and statements emerging from various European nations and Israeli authorities.

Reuters and AP News highlight that Belgium confirmed the targeting of both Palestinians and Western diplomats by settlers. Meanwhile, RTE.ie reports that the Israeli Foreign Minister formally condemned the actions, labeling the perpetrators as rioters. The Times of Israel features direct commentary from the assaulted French mayor, who asserts that the incident serves as clear evidence of government tolerance for such violence. Different news organizations focus on specific facets of the assault, ranging from the diplomatic status of the victims to the exact timing during the seasonal olive harvest. This incident unfolds against the ongoing, volatile backdrop of the West Bank, where olive harvests frequently intersect with friction between local Palestinians, Israeli settlers, and international solidarity missions.

The presence of European diplomats and figures like a French mayor underlines the international dimension of monitoring ongoing civil friction and agricultural activities in the territory. Coverage does not yet specify full details regarding every government's comprehensive policy response, but the immediate reports center on the physical confrontation itself and the official condemnations issued within hours of the event. As the situation develops, readers and analysts are looking to the coverage to see how diplomatic channels between Israel and European countries will navigate the fallout from the attack. Future reports will likely track any potential arrests, official investigations by security forces into the masked rioters, and whether additional European governments issue formal protests. For now, the available information remains strictly tied to the immediate statements from the Israeli Foreign Minister, Belgian authorities, and the accounts provided by the targeted diplomats and the beaten French mayor.
