# Saudi coalition, Houthis trade strikes as disruption spreads

> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-10-18 22:20 UTC · Category: World

## Executive Summary
A Houthi projectile hits Najran, injuring six Saudis and damaging homes, highlighting the ongoing Saudi‑Houthi strike exchange.

## Intelligence Brief
Saudi civil defence confirmed that six Saudi citizens were injured in the blast. Xinhua reported the six injuries and the civil‑defence statement, while Yemen Online echoed the figure and identified the victims as Saudis. The Times of Israel reproduced the same details, and Khaleej Times added that the projectile damaged both houses and cars.

All sources cited the same civil‑defence briefing, underscoring a coordinated information release. The strike arrives amid a broader pattern of reciprocal attacks between the Saudi‑led coalition and the Houthi movement, a trend described in recent monitoring as a trade of strikes that is spreading disruption across the region. Najran, located near the Yemen‑Saudi border, has previously been a flashpoint for cross‑border fire, making any new projectile especially significant for both sides’ security calculations.

Future reporting will likely focus on official responses from Saudi authorities, including any statements from the Ministry of Interior or the coalition’s command. Observers will also watch for follow‑up coverage from the same four outlets, which may document additional damage, further injuries, or retaliatory actions. The evolution of the incident will be tracked as part of the ongoing assessment of the Saudi‑Houthi strike exchange.
