## Executive Summary
The Baltimore Orioles are moving to hire Jared Banner from the Chicago Cubs to serve as their new general manager.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent sports reporting details a major front office transition involving the Baltimore Orioles and the Chicago Cubs. Banner transitions into this role after previously working as an assistant and front office executive with the Cubs. The reports specify that Banner will step into the general manager position in Baltimore under Mike Elias, establishing a new leadership dynamic within the franchise's executive hierarchy. Coverage across the aforementioned sports publications heavily emphasizes the origins and professional trajectory of the newly appointed executive.

Yahoo Sports and ESPN frame the move as an acquisition of an experienced front office executive, detailing Banner's previous tenure within the Cubs organization. Meanwhile, MLB.com and MLB Trade Rumors provide league-wide perspectives on the structural changes taking place inside the Orioles organization as they prepare for upcoming operational phases under the combined leadership of Elias and Banner. While the current news reports explicitly state the structural hierarchy—noting that Banner will operate under Mike Elias—coverage does not yet specify a definitive timeline for Banner's formal introduction, the exact parameters of his contract, or any subsequent adjustments to the rest of the Baltimore front office staff. Readers seeking to understand the immediate impact of this hiring must rely on the established connection between Banner's prior experience in Chicago and the current organizational needs of the Baltimore franchise as outlined by the reporting outlets.

Observers of the sport will monitor future announcements from the Baltimore Orioles organization to track any subsequent executive promotions, front office restructuring, or official press conferences addressing the appointment. As coverage develops further, additional details regarding Jared Banner's responsibilities under Mike Elias are expected to emerge from the participating media outlets and official club statements.
