## Executive Summary
Robert Kabera, a critic of Rwandan President Paul Kagame and former soldier, has been found beheaded in Uganda.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent reporting indicates that Robert Kabera, an ex-soldier and prominent critic of Rwandan President Paul Kagame, has been found dead and beheaded in neighboring Uganda. The killing took place in Mpigi, drawing immediate attention from regional authorities and international news organisations. Police forces have launched an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder. However, current coverage from multiple outlets confirms that no suspects have been arrested yet in connection with the beheading of the Rwandan dissident and former military member. Coverage of the incident is being driven by several prominent news sources, including the BBC, NewVision.co.ug, Uganda Radionetwork, kare11.com, Uganda Observer, ChimpReports, and the Daily Monitor.

These outlets emphasize the victim's political background as a vocal critic of the Rwandan government alongside his former service as a soldier. Specific reports provide insight into his life history and the unfolding police response in Mpigi, while the Uganda Police have publicly spoken out regarding the high-profile homicide. Context provided across the reporting highlights the geopolitical sensitivity of the event, given the status of the victim as a political dissident residing across the border from Rwanda. The sources establish that Kabera was known for his opposition to President Paul Kagame, making his violent death in Uganda a matter of intense public interest and concern. Existing coverage does not yet detail the broader diplomatic repercussions or the specific political affiliations of potential suspects beyond noting the ongoing police probe.

Looking forward, updates will depend entirely on further statements from the Uganda Police and developments in the Mpigi murder investigation. Observers and news consumers will be monitoring whether law enforcement manages to identify and apprehend suspects in the case. Because current reporting confirms a complete absence of arrests at this stage, the investigation remains wide open, and further official updates are expected as authorities continue their probe into the ex-soldier's death.
