# Ravens' Lamar Jackson (high ankle sprain) unsure if he'll play

## Executive Summary
Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson’s high‑ankle sprain leaves his Sunday showdown with the Bengals in limbo.

## Intelligence Brief
Coach Jesse Minter told reporters he is “still working through” the decision on whether Jackson will suit up. Jackson himself said he is “heading in the right direction,” but no definitive timetable was provided. Coverage notes that the quarterback’s health will be a pivotal factor for Baltimore’s chances. Coverage of the situation appears across several sports outlets. NBC Sports reported Minter’s ongoing assessment, while CBS Sports and ESPN echoed Jackson’s own comment about moving in the right direction.

Yahoo Sports ran a status check specifically for the Bengals‑Ravens tilt. The team’s own site, Baltimore Ravens, highlighted that two defensive starters have been ruled out for the game. In addition, Baltimore Beatdown noted that the Ravens upgraded Vega Ioane and Rashod Bateman on Thursday’s injury report, indicating a broader roster shuffle. Jackson’s presence is central to the Ravens’ offensive identity, and a high ankle sprain can limit mobility and throwing mechanics, especially for a dual‑threat quarterback. The Ravens entered the contest with a record that keeps them in contention for a playoff berth, and the Bengals represent a direct rival in the AFC North.

Losing a starting quarterback in a division game could shift the balance of power, while the loss of two defensive starters further strains Baltimore’s ability to contain the Bengals’ attack. Observers will watch for an official roster announcement from the Ravens before kickoff, which will confirm whether Jackson is cleared to play. The status of Vega Ioane and Rashod Bateman, as well as the two defensive starters, will also be clarified in the final injury report. The Bengals’ preparation, including any adjustments for a potential Jackson absence, will be reported by the same outlets that have been following the story. The evolving injury list will shape pre‑game analysis and post‑game narratives.
