# Quarterbacks underwhelm (again) as Indiana holds on to beat Michigan in OT

> **Open Intelligence Dossier** · First detected: 2026-10-25 00:20 UTC · Category: Sports

## Executive Summary
Indiana’s overtime upset over Michigan spotlights stalled quarterbacks and a battered Michigan offensive coordinator.

## Intelligence Brief
The coverage places particular emphasis on Michigan’s offensive coordinator, Jason Beck. Yahoo Sports contributed three key statistics from the 13‑6 outcome, though the specific figures are not detailed in the headline. Together, the outlets frame the game as a defensive battle undermined by ineffective quarterback leadership.

The matchup carries weight in the broader college‑football landscape because Michigan entered the contest with expectations of a high‑powered offense, a reputation built on recent seasons of prolific passing. Indiana, by contrast, has been praised for a disciplined defensive scheme that limits big plays. The underperformance of quarterbacks therefore shifts analytical focus toward coaching decisions and defensive execution, explaining why the New York Times highlighted Beck’s role while USA Today provided a straightforward game recap.

Future reporting is expected to monitor how Michigan responds to the criticism of its offensive coordinator and whether quarterback play improves in upcoming games. Indiana’s ability to hold a lead and execute in overtime will likely be examined as a benchmark for its season trajectory. As the week progresses, analysts will watch for any adjustments announced by Michigan’s staff and for statistical breakdowns that Yahoo Sports may release after the game.
