# Jets' Garrett Wilson says sideline screaming wasn't directed at Geno Smith

## Executive Summary
Garrett Wilson insists the sideline roar after the Jets’ Week 7 loss wasn’t aimed at Geno Smith, while he vows revenge against the Dolphins.

## Intelligence Brief
Wilson told reporters the screaming was not directed at quarterback Geno Smith, despite a heated exchange between the two on the field. He also acknowledged that his own production in the game was his season‑worst statistical output. NBC Sports highlighted that Wilson and Smith were “heated, but not at each other.” CBS Sports labeled Wilson’s effort a “season‑worst performance.” Yahoo Sports quoted Wilson as already seeking a “feel‑good revenge” after the loss. The New York Post framed the situation as an “edict” for Wilson to execute against the Dolphins or risk the season spiraling.

ESPN focused on the claim that the sideline screaming was unrelated to Smith. The comments arrive as the Jets grapple with an uneven season. Media analysts have pointed to the visible friction between the team’s leading receiver and its veteran quarterback as a symptom of broader communication challenges. The New York Post and other outlets have warned that without a decisive response the team could see its standing deteriorate further, heightening pressure on coaches and players.

Future coverage will watch the next Jets‑Dolphins meeting, if on the schedule, to see whether Wilson can turn his “feel‑good revenge” talk into tangible results. Reporters will also note any additional remarks from Geno Smith, the coaching staff or front‑office officials about the sideline atmosphere. Wilson’s performance metrics in the coming weeks will serve as a barometer for the effectiveness of the “edict” described by the New York Post and for the Jets’ ability to reverse the current trajectory.
