## Executive Summary
Russia has launched a series of strikes targeting multiple locations of Epicentr, one of Ukraine's largest retail chains, causing widespread destruction.

## Intelligence Brief
A series of Russian strikes has targeted the Epicentr home improvement retail chain across Ukraine, resulting in significant damage and fire. According to reporting from The Kyiv Independent, four hypermarkets belonging to this major retailer were hit in a window of less than 24 hours. Specifically, UkrMedia News reports that an Epicentre building in Kharkiv was struck twice and caught fire. Additionally, UA.NEWS reports that a strike on an Epicenter location in Poltava also caused a fire, which resulted in one person being injured during the event. Coverage from multiple outlets emphasizes the scale of the targeting.

Bloomberg.com reports that the major Ukrainian retailer has stated the hits have destroyed its chain. This sentiment is echoed by Українська правда, which characterizes the events as the total destruction of the chain following the strikes on the four home improvement superstores. The reporting across these diverse outlets, ranging from international financial news to local Ukrainian sources, highlights a concentrated effort to target this specific corporate entity's infrastructure. This trend is significant because Epicentr is identified as one of the largest retail chains operating within Ukraine. The nature of the targets—large-scale home improvement superstores—indicates a focus on commercial and retail hubs.

The speed of the attacks, occurring within a single day, suggests a coordinated operation. The reports of fires in both Kharkiv and Poltava illustrate the immediate physical consequences of these strikes on civilian commercial architecture and the resulting risk to people on site. Future developments to monitor include further statements from the Epicentr retail chain regarding the extent of their losses and the operational status of their remaining assets. Observers will also look for updates regarding the casualty count beyond the one person injured in Poltava. Because the retailer has described the situation as the destruction of its chain, coverage will likely follow whether the company can maintain any level of business continuity or if the losses are permanent.
