## Executive Summary
Fans returned to the University of New Mexico football game after a weather-related evacuation caused by lightning.

## Intelligence Brief
According to coverage from KOAT, the event required a full evacuation of fans due to lightning in the area. This safety measure temporarily halted the proceedings as spectators were moved out of the stadium to avoid the dangers associated with the electrical storm. The situation remained fluid until officials determined that it was safe for the public to return to their seats and for the game to resume.

KOAT is the primary outlet reporting on this development, emphasizing the logistical process of allowing fans back into the venue following the initial evacuation. The report focuses specifically on the safety protocols enacted during the lightning event and the subsequent decision to reopen the stadium. The coverage highlights the transition from the evacuation phase back to the active game environment, ensuring that the spectator experience could continue once the weather threats had subsided sufficiently.

This incident occurred within the broader context of the New Mexico Lobos' efforts to secure a bowl game appearance. The intersection of high-stakes athletic competition and unpredictable weather patterns created a volatile environment for both the players on the field and the fans in the stands, making the evacuation a critical point of the game's timeline. Based on the reported sequence of events, the primary focus remains on how the team performed following the weather delay and whether this specific game contributes to them becoming bowl-bound.
