## Executive Summary
Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore is sidelined for the remainder of the 2026 season following a concussion sustained during a game against USC.

## Intelligence Brief
Oregon Ducks quarterback Dante Moore will miss the remainder of the 2026 college football season. The announcement follows an injury sustained during a matchup against USC, which Bleacher Report identifies as an illegal hit. The New York Times clarifies that the injury causing Moore's absence is a concussion. This development effectively ends Moore's participation in the current campaign, leaving the Oregon offense to adjust its strategy for the remaining schedule. Coverage of the situation is widespread across major sports and general news outlets.

KSAT reports that the information was confirmed by Oregon coach Dan Lanning, who stated that Moore is not expected to return this season. This confirmation is echoed by Ducks Wire, which labeled the news as breaking, and USA Today, which frames the loss as the latest hit for the Oregon Ducks program. The reporting across these five sources emphasizes the finality of the injury and the immediate impact on the team's roster. The context of this injury is heightened by the specific circumstances of the event. Bleacher Report explicitly notes that the injury occurred after an illegal hit during the game against USC.

This adds a layer of controversy to the player's absence, as the injury was not the result of a standard play but rather a prohibited action on the field. The loss of a starting quarterback in the middle of a season creates significant instability for any program, and the Ducks now face the challenge of replacing Moore's production. Moving forward, the focus remains on how Oregon will manage its quarterback position for the rest of the 2026 season. While the current coverage establishes that Moore will not return to the field, it does not specify who will take over as the primary starter. Observers will be monitoring team updates and coach Dan Lanning's further comments regarding the depth chart and the team's preparation for upcoming opponents in the wake of this loss.
