Former star quarterback Robert Griffin III has declared his full interest in returning to Baylor University as its next head football coach.

## Intelligence Brief
This development comes immediately following the firing of the previous head coach, Dave Aranda. The vacancy at the university has triggered a wide-ranging search for a replacement to lead the football program. According to reports, Griffin III is positioning himself as a primary candidate for the role, signaling a potential return to the institution where he previously achieved significant collegiate success. Coverage of the coaching search is being led by Yahoo Sports, which reported Griffin III's specific interest in the opening. On3 is providing detailed tracking of the situation, focusing on the names of potential candidates to know and the specific timelines that the university will follow during the hiring process.

Additionally, KU Sports has reported on the emotional fallout of the coaching change, specifically highlighting the reaction of Kansas coach Lance Leipold. Leipold described the ousted coach, Dave Aranda, as being one of the true real people in the coaching profession. To understand the current stakes, it is necessary to recognize that Baylor is in a period of leadership transition after the dismissal of Aranda. The program is now tasked with identifying a new head coach who can steer the team forward. The interest from Robert Griffin III adds a high-profile dimension to the search, as he is a well-known figure associated with the school's history.

The comments from Lance Leipold further illustrate the professional respect Aranda commanded within the collegiate sports community prior to his termination. Moving forward, observers are watching the timelines established by Baylor as they vet candidates. While Griffin III has expressed his enthusiasm, the university's official selection process remains the primary focus. Future reports from On3 and other outlets are expected to clarify which other names are being considered alongside Griffin III. The situation remains fluid as the university works to resolve the vacancy and appoint a new leader to take over the program's operations.
