## Executive Summary
Syria condemns Jordanian airstrikes in southern Syria that killed at least seven people following an attack on a church.

## Intelligence Brief
Syria has reported casualties following a series of retaliatory airstrikes conducted by Jordan within southern Syrian territory. According to reports from Vatican News, these military actions resulted in the deaths of at least seven individuals, a figure that includes children. This escalation marks a violent exchange between the two neighboring states, leading to immediate diplomatic friction and loss of life on the ground in southern Syria. Coverage of the event is being highlighted by Yahoo, France 24, and Vatican News, each focusing on different dimensions of the tragedy.

France 24 and Yahoo emphasize the diplomatic reaction from the Syrian government, which has slammed the Jordanian military actions as an unacceptable violation. Specifically, France 24 notes that Syria has characterized the strikes as an unacceptable breach of its national airspace. Meanwhile, Vatican News provides the most specific casualty figures, noting the deaths of at least seven people and highlighting that children were among those killed in the southern region of the country. This situation reflects a period of high instability where the violation of sovereign airspace and the conduct of targeted strikes are being used as tools of retaliation, leading to civilian casualties and severe diplomatic condemnation from the Syrian state toward the Jordanian military.

Moving forward, the focus remains on the diplomatic fallout and the potential for further military responses. Syrian officials have already labeled the breach of airspace as unacceptable, suggesting a state of high tension between the two nations. Observers will be monitoring whether further casualties are reported beyond the seven mentioned by Vatican News and how Syria intends to address the violation of its territory.
