## Executive Summary
The free-to-play MOBA Pokémon UNITE is scheduled to officially shut down its services on March 23, 2027.

## Intelligence Brief
Pokémon UNITE, the free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game, is preparing to cease operations. According to a report from Crunchyroll, the game's official shutdown date has been set for March 23, 2027. This announcement marks the end of the service for players who have utilized the title since its launch, establishing a definitive timeline for when the servers will go offline and the game will no longer be accessible for play. The current coverage of this event is focused on the specific date of the closure. Crunchyroll is the primary outlet reporting the news, highlighting the transition toward the end of the game's lifecycle.

The report emphasizes the exact calendar date of March 23, 2027, as the point of termination. No other outlets have been cited in the available coverage, but the reporting clearly establishes that the service will end in early 2027. Understanding the significance of this event requires recognizing that Pokémon UNITE functions as a free-to-play MOBA, a genre that typically relies on long-term server maintenance and continuous updates to retain a user base. The decision to shut down the game means that all online matches and player progress tied to the servers will be permanently halted. This move represents a significant change for the Pokémon franchise's presence in the competitive MOBA gaming market.

Moving forward, observers will be looking for further details regarding the shutdown process. Since the coverage provided by Crunchyroll only specifies the date of March 23, 2027, future updates may include information on how players can handle their accounts or if there will be final in-game events before the closure. For now, the only confirmed fact is the shutdown date, and there is no information regarding the reasons for the closure or potential replacements.
