## Executive Summary
The University of Maryland is incentivizing student attendance at football games by offering a chance to win free tuition for staying through the fourth quarter.

## Intelligence Brief
The University of Maryland is implementing a promotional incentive targeting its student body to encourage attendance during football games. Specifically, students are being offered a chance to win free tuition if they remain at the stadium for the majority of the game. This particular initiative is tied to the Terrapins' matchup against Illinois, where students who stay through the fourth quarter of the contest will be eligible for the tuition prize. The promotion aims to keep student fans in their seats for the duration of the sporting event. Coverage includes reports from Yahoo Sports, CBS News, ESPN, and The New York Times, as well as local reporting from The Baltimore Banner.

These outlets emphasize the specific condition of the giveaway, which requires students to be present through the fourth quarter to qualify for the reward. The consistent focus across all reported sources is the direct link between game-day endurance and the potential for a significant financial windfall regarding educational costs. While the coverage does not specify the exact number of winners or the total value of the tuition being offered, the context of the promotion suggests a strategic effort to boost the atmosphere and support for the Terrapins. By leveraging the high cost of university tuition as a motivator, the institution is attempting to ensure that the student section remains full even during the final stages of the game. This move highlights a trend of using high-stakes incentives to maintain crowd engagement in collegiate athletics, particularly in high-profile matchups like the one against Illinois.

Looking forward, observers will be monitoring the outcome of the game against Illinois to see if a student successfully claims the free tuition prize. Based on the reported details, the primary requirement for eligibility is the physical presence of the student through the fourth quarter. Future reports may clarify how the winner is selected among those who remained in the stadium. For now, the focus remains on the immediate incentive provided to the University of Maryland student population during this specific athletic event.
