## Executive Summary
Qatari mediators present a new deal to Iran as diplomatic efforts intensify to end the ongoing war and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

## Intelligence Brief
Recent coverage outlines significant diplomatic activity centered on Qatari mediation efforts involving Iran. According to reporting from outlets including The Times of Israel, CBS News, and Reuters, Qatari mediators have officially presented a new deal to Iran with the stated aim of bringing the war to an end. Additional reporting from The Jerusalem Post highlights that Qatar has also urged Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz while U.S. mediation efforts unfold in parallel.

Coverage emphasizes the active involvement of regional and international actors, with Iran International reporting that neighboring countries are pushing diplomacy forward while simultaneously preparing for the potential failure of these diplomatic initiatives. The outlets tracking these developments provide concurrent updates on the situation, noting the duration of the conflict as an eight-month war in live updates from CBS News, while other details regarding the specifics of the proposal remain restricted to the information provided by officials. This diplomatic push occurs against the backdrop of ongoing hostilities and regional disruptions, specifically involving the Strait of Hormuz, which has drawn direct urges for reopening from Qatari officials.

The intersection of Qatari mediation, United States mediation efforts, and regional preparations by Iran's neighbors establishes a complex environment where diplomatic channels are being heavily utilized to address both the broader war and specific transit bottlenecks. Future developments will depend on the official responses to the newly presented Qatari deal and whether diplomatic measures can achieve a resolution or if regional actors must transition to backup scenarios. Coverage does not yet specify the exact terms of the proposal or a definitive timeline for Iran's response, leaving observers to monitor ongoing reports from the participating news organizations for further updates.
