## Intelligence Brief
Recent sports coverage from outlets including Fox News, ABC4 Utah, WKMG, the Orlando Sentinel, and ESPN details disciplinary actions taken by the Big 12 Conference following a football game. Specifically, the University of Central Florida has been fined for fan behavior directed at Brigham Young University. According to the reports, the incidents involved derogatory and discriminatory chants erupting from the crowd while UCF secured an upset win over BYU. Outlets such as WKMG and the Orlando Sentinel specify the financial penalty, reporting that the University of Central Florida received a fine of one hundred thousand dollars.

In tandem with the financial sanction, ESPN and other reporting sources indicate that the Big 12 Conference has established a new policy that introduces in-game penalties to address such fan conduct directly as events unfold on the field. The context provided by the reporting establishes that the disciplinary measures and the new policy framework emerge directly from the conduct observed during this specific football matchup. While the headlines do not elaborate on prior incidents between the two universities, the current coverage focuses strictly on the administrative fallout from the derogatory remarks made by the crowd during the game.

Moving forward, coverage does not yet specify how teams will implement the new Big 12 in-game penalties or whether additional disciplinary measures will follow if similar crowd behavior occurs in future athletic events. Observers and fans will monitor how officials apply the newly established policy during upcoming conference games.
