## Executive Summary
Square Enix delays Final Fantasy XIV’s Evercold expansion to Feb 23 2027 while unveiling the Zephyr job at Tokyo’s 2026 Fan Fest.

## Intelligence Brief
The studio confirmed that the Evercold expansion has been delayed and set a new launch date for Tuesday 23 February 2027. In the same keynote the company unveiled “Zephyr” as the second new job that will debut with Evercold, confirming its inclusion in the upcoming content. The official Square‑Enix Ltd release and the IGN story both cite the revised schedule and the job reveal as the headline items of the event. Coverage of the announcements spanned a range of gaming and lifestyle outlets. IGN ran a piece titled “Final Fantasy XIV Evercold Delayed, New Release Date Announced at FFXIV Fan Fest,” focusing on the postponement and the February release.

Noisy Pixel published a detailed look at Zephyr’s weapon, pet, abilities and unlock requirements. Men’s Journal offered a guide on how to watch the Tokyo Fan Fest and what viewers can expect from the live keynote. Massively Overpowered posed a community‑focused question about hopes for the keynote, while MMORPG.com maintained a live blog tracking the Fan Fest proceedings in real time. Evergold is not mentioned; the correct title is Evercold, the next major content update for Final Fantasy XIV, the long‑running MMORPG that commands a global player base. Introducing a second new job follows the series’ tradition of expanding gameplay through distinct classes, with Zephyr joining the roster announced for the expansion.

The Tokyo Fan Fest, scheduled for 2026, serves as Square Enix’s primary venue for unveiling expansion details, livestreaming keynotes, and engaging directly with the community. The delay shifts the expansion’s release into early 2027, aligning it with the announced February date. Future coverage is expected to track the rollout of Zephyr’s in‑game implementation, including the release of its specific abilities and gear. The live blog on MMORPG.com will likely continue to update fans on any additional announcements made during the remainder of the Fan Fest. Viewers are advised to follow the official Square Enix channels and partner outlets for further details on the Evercold release timeline and any subsequent content drops.
