## Executive Summary
The New York Giants are aggressively pursuing a top-tier running back upgrade, targeting Jonathan Taylor and potentially Derrick Henry.

## Intelligence Brief
The New York Giants are currently engaged in an active search for a new running back as the 2026 trade deadline approaches. According to reports from Bleacher Report, the Giants and the Minnesota Vikings are identified as the most aggressive teams involved in running back trade discussions. Much of this activity is centered around a pursuit of Jonathan Taylor, though NBC Sports indicates the organization may consider a pivot toward Derrick Henry. The Giants are attempting to solidify their backfield during a critical window of the NFL season, as tracked by Big Blue View. Coverage from the New York Post emphasizes the strategic importance of this move in the context of the NFC East.

The outlet highlights how the perceived weakness of the NFC East division should influence the way the Giants approach their pursuit of Jonathan Taylor. Meanwhile, Yahoo Sports suggests that there is a perfect trade target available that other analysts are not currently mentioning, though the specific identity of that player remains a point of speculation across the wider sports media landscape. This trend matters now because the trade deadline is imminent, forcing the Giants to make decisive moves to improve their roster. The focus on Jonathan Taylor and Derrick Henry suggests the team is seeking a high-impact, proven veteran to anchor their offense. The involvement of the Minnesota Vikings in these same trade circles increases the competition for available talent, potentially driving up the cost of acquisition for the Giants as they look to gain a competitive edge in their division.

Future developments will depend on whether the Giants successfully secure Jonathan Taylor or decide to pivot to Derrick Henry. Observers are monitoring Big Blue View for a comprehensive tracking of every rumor and move associated with the 2026 trade deadline. The outcome of these negotiations will determine if the Giants can capitalize on the current state of the NFC East by adding a premier running back to their lineup before the window for trades officially closes.
