## Executive Summary
The Buffalo Bills have released safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson following a one-game suspension for an incident involving the Raiders.

## Intelligence Brief
The Buffalo Bills have officially released safety C.J. The release comes after Gardner-Johnson served a one-game suspension. According to the provided coverage, the suspension was issued because the player spat at members of the Raiders. The transaction was confirmed directly by the Buffalo Bills organization and reported across multiple sports news outlets. Extensive coverage of the release is being provided by several major media organizations. ESPN and NBC Sports both highlighted that the release followed the one-game suspension related to the spitting incident.

Bleacher Report provided details on the specific nature of the suspension, noting that the player, referred to as CJGJ, was released after serving the penalty for spitting at the Raiders. The New York Times cited a source stating that the Bills released the safety after he had played six games for the team. Yahoo Sports added the detail that the player is a Super Bowl champion. To understand the context of this move, readers must note that Gardner-Johnson joined the Bills as a Super Bowl champion and played six games for the franchise prior to his departure. The timeline shows that the team chose to part ways with the safety following a Week 8 win, suggesting the move took place regardless of the team's recent success on the field. The disciplinary action involving the Raiders served as the immediate precursor to the team's decision to release him from the roster.

Observers will now look to see where the free agent safety lands next. Coverage does not yet specify if Gardner-Johnson has entered talks with other teams or if the league will take further action regarding the spitting incident beyond the one-game suspension already served. The Buffalo Bills will likely need to address the vacancy at the safety position following this release. Future reports will likely focus on how the Bills' secondary manages the loss of a Super Bowl champion after only six games of play.
