## Executive Summary
Square Enix has launched a major sale for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, featuring historic price drops for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Remake.

## Intelligence Brief
Square Enix has initiated a significant sale across the Nintendo eShop, targeting both the original Nintendo Switch and the newer Nintendo Switch 2 hardware. The promotional event features several titles at new low prices, most notably including Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Octopath Traveler 0. According to coverage from Nintendo Everything, the sale is currently live and encompasses a variety of Square Enix properties, offering these games at prices that have not been seen previously on these platforms. Reporting from several outlets emphasizes the depth of the discounts for the Final Fantasy series.

Noisy Pixel and Polygon.com both highlight that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth have received massive discounts on the Nintendo Switch 2, with both titles now priced under $8 each. GoNintendo further specifies that consumers can acquire both Final Fantasy VII Remake and Rebirth together for a total cost of less than $16, marking a substantial reduction in the entry price for these specific titles. Context provided by OpenCritic indicates that this event is a milestone for the publisher, as Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and other associated Square Enix games have reached their lowest prices ever. The availability of these titles on the Switch 2 suggests a strategic push to populate the library of the newer hardware.

The inclusion of Octopath Traveler 0 alongside the Final Fantasy entries demonstrates a broader effort to discount a diverse range of their portfolio to attract a wider audience of Nintendo users. Observers should monitor the eShop to see how long these historic lows persist, as coverage does not specify an end date for the promotion. Future developments will likely center on whether other Square Enix franchises receive similar price cuts or if these discounts are specifically designed to drive adoption of the Switch 2 versions of these games. For now, the focus remains on the availability of high-profile titles like Rebirth and Remake at these specific price points.
