## Executive Summary
Sweden, Norway, and the Czech Republic join a growing international coalition boycotting hockey world championship games against a reinstated Russia.

## Intelligence Brief
A significant movement is forming within the international hockey community as multiple nations pledge to boycott world championship games involving Russia. According to reporting from WRAL, Sweden and the Czech Republic have officially joined this growing effort. This coordinated refusal to compete against the reinstated Russian team signifies a widening rift in the sport's global landscape. The participants in this boycott are refusing to take the ice for specific matchups against the Russian squad, creating a logistical and competitive challenge for the tournament organizers as more nations align in this stance.

Coverage from Yahoo Sports emphasizes that these participants are described as global hockey heavy hitters, suggesting that the boycott involves some of the most competitive and influential programs in the sport. The Globe and Mail reports that the list of countries signing up for the boycott is continuing to expand, indicating that the momentum for this protest is increasing. These outlets highlight a collective refusal to engage with the reinstated Russian team, focusing on the growing number of nations that have formally committed to avoiding these specific championship games. Contextual details provided in the Toronto Star mention that while some individuals, such as Weegar, may express a love for watching Russia play hockey, there is a recognition that perspectives within Europe may differ significantly.

This tension between the appreciation for the quality of Russian play and the political or ethical motivations driving the European boycott underscores the complexity of the situation. The reinstatement of Russia into the world championship framework has served as the catalyst for this current wave of diplomatic and athletic resistance from various European counterparts. The coverage indicates a trend of more countries signing up, so the final tally of boycotting nations will be a key metric. Observers will also be monitoring how the tournament structure adapts to these refusals and whether further high-profile hockey nations follow the lead of the heavy hitters already committed to avoiding games against the reinstated Russian team.
