## Executive Summary
The Winnipeg Jets have established a new NHL record after overcoming a four-goal deficit to defeat the Montreal Canadiens in overtime.

## Intelligence Brief
According to reports from NHL.com and DAZN, the Jets began their comeback late in the third period, successfully erasing the lead held by the Canadiens. This victory is particularly significant for Winnipeg as it ended a losing streak that had reached nine games. The match concluded in an overtime period, securing the win for the Jets and marking a historic collapse for the Montreal team. Coverage from The New York Times and The Hockey News emphasizes that this event stands as the latest four-goal comeback win in the history of the National Hockey League. Yahoo Sports characterized the Montreal Canadiens' performance as a "choke job" that was almost too shocking to believe, while Sportsnet.ca noted that Montreal found themselves on the wrong side of history.

Further analysis provided by A Winning Habit suggests that the Canadiens learned a painful lesson regarding discipline during the course of this historic collapse. The event has also been featured in the NHL Morning Skate by NHL Media. To understand the significance of this outcome, readers must consider the state of the Winnipeg Jets prior to this game. NHL.com explicitly states that the team was in the midst of a skid that had lasted nine games before this rally occurred. The magnitude of the comeback is highlighted by the fact that the rally did not begin until late in the third period, leaving very little time to bridge a four-goal gap before the game entered overtime.

This sequence of events transformed a potential tenth consecutive loss into a league-record-setting win. Moving forward, attention will be on the Montreal Canadiens as they deal with the aftermath of this collapse and the discipline issues cited by A Winning Habit. The Winnipeg Jets will seek to build upon this momentum after ending their nine-game skid with a performance that The Hockey News identifies as a source of several fun facts. Based on the available coverage, the primary point of interest remains the statistical rarity of a four-goal comeback occurring so late in a game and the resulting impact on the league's historical records.
