## Intelligence Brief
The Seattle Seahawks are facing a significant roster adjustment heading into their Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals. Quarterback Sam Darnold has been ruled out for the upcoming contest, a development that alters the team's offensive strategy for the matchup. This status update comes as part of the team's broader preparation and injury management process as they transition from their previous performance into the next phase of the season. The vacancy at the quarterback position necessitates a shift in the depth chart to ensure the team has a viable starter available for the game against Arizona. Coverage of the situation has been reported by Fox News and through official communications from the Seattle Seahawks organization. Fox News specifically highlights the potential for Drew Lock to step into the starting role, though the outlet notes this possibility with a degree of uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the official Seattle Seahawks platform has provided a more formal context for the news. The team released an update featuring Head Coach Mike Macdonald, who utilized a recap of the Week 8 action to provide the necessary injury updates regarding the current status of the roster and the availability of key players. This development follows the conclusion of Week 8, a period which Head Coach Mike Macdonald has recently recapped for the organization and the public. The timing of Darnold's absence is critical as the Seahawks prepare to face the Cardinals. The focus now rests on how the team handles the transition at the most pivotal position on the field. Because the quarterback role is central to the execution of the game plan, the absence of the primary starter creates an immediate need for the coaching staff to finalize who will lead the offense during the Week 9 competition.

Moving forward, the primary point of interest is the confirmation of the starting lineup for the game against the Arizona Cardinals. While Fox News has mentioned Drew Lock as a likely candidate to start, official confirmation from the Seattle Seahawks organization is the next expected step. Observers will be watching for further updates from Head Coach Mike Macdonald as the team continues to navigate their injury list. The resolution of the quarterback vacancy will be the central narrative leading up to the kickoff of the Week 9 game, as the team seeks to maintain its momentum following the events of Week 8.
